We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.The Azure PostgreSQL group is hiring Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead PostgreSQL Engine team. We are looking for a technically hands on leader who enjoys building highly motivated teams, helping team members plan their careers and provide them with the best opportunities available. Experience in building database features and functionality at cloud scale, PostgreSQL internals and Linux knowledge is preferred for this role.We do not just value differences or different perspectives. As a result, our customers are better served.Responsibilities:\xc2\xb7 Review architectural, design and code changes in core PostgreSQL engine.
\xc2\xb7 Inspire & educate the team to make choices which has security at its core.
\xc2\xb7 Lead the efforts to maintain healthy operations of engine components which are part of the PostgreSQL managed service.
\xc2\xb7 Support the team in building frameworks, analyzing and fixing performance bottlenecks found at cloud scale.
\xc2\xb7 Guide the team in building prototypes to evaluate design and architectural options for v0.01 projects.
\xc2\xb7 Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
\xc2\xb7 Help the team with career planning and finding opportunities to create significant impact.Embody our andQualifications:Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pythono OR equivalent experience.Other RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional QualificationsBachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pythono OR Master\'s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pythono OR equivalent experience.\xc2\xb7 4+ years people management experience.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
