If you want to make an impact on a global scale, come make a difference at Fiserv.Job Title Principal, Software ArchitectureWhat does a successful Mainframe Architect do?We are seeking a seasoned IBM Mainframe Architect with a strong background in mainframe technologies and at least 14 to16 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mainframe-based applications critical to our business operations hosted on Azure and Data Centers. The role demands an individual who can drive innovation, delivery and quality independently and collaboratively, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality output.What you will do:

• Instantiate a new CICS region to support a new line of business for Portico core.
• Integration of the Portico Mainframe with Snowflake - this involves feeding real time data from VSAM to Snowflake.
• VSAM to RDBMS Migration: Migrate Mainframe system from VSAM to RDBMS. This will involve reverse engineering the existing JCL and COBOL code, data structures, integrations, etc.
• Send Real-time Alerts to Notifii System: This will expose Portico data to broader systems within Fiserv.
• Setup Development LPAR: Enable developers to use this environment for implementing encryption on the Mainframe.
• Automate Mainframe Code Build Process: Ensure the process includes Fortify scans.
• Define the strategic roadmap for mainframe development, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and business needs.
• Support translating clients requirements into a technology solution with Cloud stack and offerings as the underlying theme, driving Client value.
• Ensure the continuous optimization and modernization of mainframe systems to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures for mainframe development, including quality assurance, change management, and incident response.
• Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for the mainframe development team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Manage and mitigate risks associated with mainframe development and operations, ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in mainframe architecture and system design.
• Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as IBM z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and associated tools.
• Experience with cloud integration and modernizing legacy systems.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools in a mainframe environment.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Experience with security protocols and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Prior experience in finance, insurance, or related sectors is a plus.

What would be great to have:

• IBM Mainframe certifications.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and cybersecurity considerations for mainframes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for mainframe applications.
