: Principal SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Principal SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to lead our test automation efforts in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Python, Selenium, and Robot Framework, along with a proven track record in designing and implementing robust test automation strategies. As a Principal SDET, you will drive the overall test automation framework, mentor junior SDETs, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of test automation frameworks using Python , Selenium , and Robot Framework .
• Architect scalable test automation solutions that ensure high-quality software delivery across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to create comprehensive test strategies that include functional, performance, and security testing.
• Drive the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback on product quality.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level SDETs in best practices for test automation and software quality.
• Proactively identify gaps in testing processes and tools, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide leadership in defect triage meetings, driving the identification and resolution of defects.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and ensure the timely resolution of issues.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools in test automation and software quality.

Required Skills :

• 8 - 10 years of experience in software testing and automation, with at least 4+ years as an SDET lead or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming, with expertise in developing automation scripts.
• Extensive experience with Selenium for web application testing.
• Hands-on experience with Robot Framework for test automation.
• In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipeline integrations.
• Proven ability to design and architect robust test automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.

Good to Have :

• Experience with API testing and automation tools like Postman, RestAssured, etc.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for testing environments.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
