Overview:
Srusti Academy of Management (Autonomous), a leading business school in Bhubaneswar, is setting up a full-fledged Undergraduate Courses Centre focused on B.Com programs in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Faculty/Professor/Associate Professor to lead the B.Com program, oversee academic and administrative functions, and play a key role in transforming the Centre into a revenue-positive entity. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong academic leadership and a passion for empowering students to pursue professional careers as Chartered Accountants (CA), Company Secretaries (CS), and Cost Accountants (CMA).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement innovative academic curricula for the B.Com program, ensuring alignment with NEP 2020 and industry standards.
Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
Foster a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a strong foundation in accounting, taxation, finance, and business law.
Lead the development of academic partnerships, collaborations, and industry tie-ups to enhance the program's reputation and student employability.
Oversee day-to-day academic and administrative functions of the B.Com/other programs, ensuring smooth operations.
Manage course scheduling, faculty assignments, and student assessment processes.
Develop and enforce academic policies and ensure adherence to the standards set by the institution and regulatory bodies.
Actively participate in institutional governance, including curriculum review committees and academic boards.
Revenue Generation & Strategic Growth:
Develop and execute a targeted strategy for making the B.Com program revenue-positive within a defined time frame.
Focus on student recruitment strategies, leveraging marketing, branding, and partnerships with professional bodies (CA, CS, CMA) to drive enrollment.
Implement innovative programs, such as skill development workshops, certifications, and internship opportunities to increase the employability of graduates.
Build relationships with industry stakeholders, including accounting firms, corporates, and professional bodies, to facilitate student placements and internships.
Student Support & Development:
Guide students in preparing for professional exams (CA, CS, CMA) and provide career counseling to enhance their career prospects.
Implement initiatives to enhance student engagement, such as guest lectures, workshops, and industry visits.
Monitor student progress and ensure academic excellence by identifying areas of improvement and implementing remedial measures when necessary.
Research & Professional Development:
Engage in high-quality research and publish in reputed journals, contributing to the academic community and the institution's research profile.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in the fields of accounting, finance, and management education, integrating this knowledge into the program.
Foster a culture of research and academic development among faculty members.
Educational Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines (preferably).
A strong academic background with a Master's degree (M.Com, MBA or equivalent) from a reputed institution.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of academic experience in a leading institution, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Head of Department, Associate Professor, or Professor.
Proven track record of teaching, research, and administrative leadership, ideally in the areas of B.Com, Accounting, Finance, and related disciplines.
Familiarity with the requirements and curriculum of professional qualifications such as CA, CS, and CMA.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a diverse group of faculty and students.
Ability to design and implement strategies that drive academic excellence and financial sustainability.
Experience in developing partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and other educational institutions.
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
Location Preference:
Incumbents from Southern India only need to apply (due to cultural and regional alignment with the target student base).
