Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization for Public Admin and Public Safety Suite of SaaS software. This team focuses on product development and product strategy while building out a complete suite of SaaS software. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment.


We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a hands-on Principal Member of Technical Staff Engineer who shares our passion and excitement to design, develop and operate SaaS services using cloud native best practices.


As a PMTS in our team, you'll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support Public Safety Suite of applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead, you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Job Requirements: • Hands on experience with Multi-tier web application development, Microservices architecture , Micro Frontends , JAVA, J2EE, SQL Datastore, Node JS, React or Preact, Spring Boot, Helidon, Cloud Ecosystem Knowledge, Kubernetes, Docker, Security best practices, DevOps.
• Solve complex architecture/design & business problems, work to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks, etc.
• Thorough understanding of software development cycle and agile practices.
• Architect, design & develop automation to reduce toil, improve recoverability, availability, latency & scalability of supported applications.
• Provide subject matter expertise in troubleshooting issues impacting the performance, security, efficiency and reliability of cloud based services.
• Mentor and coach engineers to be curious and effective at discovering and solving technical challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)
• Min 7 years of experience in Technology/Software engineering. Back end tech -JAVA, J2EE, NoSQL/SQL Datastore, Spring Boot, Cloud , Kubernetes , Docker.
• Must have strong technology experience in Java/J2EE, Webservices(REST), GraphQL etc.
• Developed applications using REST APIs with JSON payloads.
• Domain driven design or micro services architecture.
• Experience in building highly secure APIs and web applications.
• Experience working with popular frameworks like Spring, SpringBoot etc.
• Must have hands-on development experience in design and build of responsive UI using JavaScript, React, Preact etc. .
• Expert skills in use of various JavaScript libraries like RequireJS, NodeJS packages, jQuery and jQuery UI etc.

Responsibilities

• As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in leading the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications.
• Design and build distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.
• Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure.
• Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, refining the architecture by providing feedback and suggestions, reviewing code, managing releases, driving DevOps, to quality assurance, and to manage operations of the software assets in production.
• Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high.
