We are looking for a Group Engineering Manager to lead our new and coming team in Hyderabad, India which works on WebData and Crowd Intelligence Platforms which are two of the most critical areas owned by the WebXT Platform India team.

The Web Data Platform (WDP) is responsible for discovering, crawling, selecting and building the most comprehensive, high quality and fresh internet index, processing Trillion+ Web Pages and storing 100s of Peta bytes of data. This team is also responsible to own and drive control over non-meaningful, regional blocked or spam search results as well. Our team invented and pioneered industry leading protocols such as Indexnow.org, leads the efforts to enhance content discovery and updates at scale to bring latest and fresh content to Bing Index. We own and manage data processing pipelines at Web scale such as processing and obtaining insights from sitemaps for all of world wide web. We also built, manage, and evolve high scale consumer facing web master tools for site owners and SEO agencies. In the area of Index Quality, team builds and manages multiple ML models for identification of low quality pages and processes them with low latency. We collaborate with various WebXT Teams, to light up their scenarios using web Index data and platform.

The Crowd Intelligence Platform (CIP) has an ambition to scale to all products in WebXT (Bing, Maps, Edge, Windows Feeds etc.) and beyond providing necessary infrastructure to schedule & distribute many scenarios for validation. This product will leverage the power of crowdsourcing to auto generate a user perceived quality score representative of the health of the products, to enable teams to be in control of their feature quality and take pride in their product. The service is expected to run 100s of thousands of scenarios every day for both webpages and mobile and desktop apps starting with deployment of right version of operating system/hosting app with appropriate settings and connecting with relevant judges across multiple crowdsourced platforms. In addition, the service will include capabilities to capture the validation process for future debuggability, built in intelligence to target high fidelity judges, ability to dynamically update the pricing for these tasks and support real time routing across platforms to optimize for cost. Responsive dashboard, with real time data ingestion is another fundamental capability, to ease consumption of data by everyone in the organization.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a senior and experienced engineering leader to build, manage and provide leadership to our fast-growing world class engineering organization in India. You will get to lead a team of engineering managers and engineers and partner with the larger Bing and WebXT teams across the globe.

Qualifications:

• A BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• 15+ years of total experience engineering, designing, building and shipping software at scale
• 5+ years of team leadership and people management including managing managers
• Track record of building and leading high functioning teams, including recruiting and retaining diverse talent base
• Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
• Experience building software products with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated expertise coding in C, C++, Java, C#, Python
• Have demonstrable experience in architecting and driving implementation of large-scale services and data processing using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or similar.
• Knowledge of building public and private cloud-based Web solutions with backend orchestrations. Experienced in capacity planning and creating consumption-based architectures.
• Experience in data science, machine learning techniques and frameworks is a plus
