Refers to the field of engineering dealing with the analysis and design of structures that support or resist loads. Commonly involved in the design of buildings and large nonbuilding structures, but can also be involved in the design of machinery, medical equipment, vehicles or any item where structural integrity affects the function or safety of an item. Discipline concerning force resisting and load bearing members and their connections for structures such as foundations, bridges, walls, columns, slabs, beams, trusses or similar members used singly or as part of a larger structure.

Duties and Responsibilities

Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff\'s specific area of expertise.

Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

Prepares technical specification sections.

Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK)
• 10+ years of design experience in structural Engineering
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working in the UK Rail industry with experience in Stations, platforms, lineside etc.
• Ideally chartered or working towards chartered with ICE.
• Multi-D coordination experience, on railway projects (if no UK at least minimum 5+ years of Indian rail/metro Rail experience)

Software: MIDAS, STAAD PRO, TEDDS, Structural Bridge Design (SBD).

Codes: Euro Code, British Standards * Experience leading a team of Engineers and CAD on at least two multi-D projects.

• Experience in both Concrete and Steel design.
• Experience in RC detailing and BBS check for all types of structures.
• Design experience in general civil work like foundations (pile, raft, pad), retaining walls etc.
• Experience in designing Steel footbridges, stairs and lift shafts.
