The Principal Engineer with work cross-functional technology teams to architect and deliver Data and AI outcomes using industry best practices and adhering to GSK\xe2\x80\x99s IT management framework. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, maintaining data architecture, data models, data assets, data interfaces, data pipelines on Azure Cloud and on Aera Decision Intelligence Platform. Additionally, you will design AI ML data integration, pipelines and orchestration patterns that span across multiple technical systems.Role responsibilitiesHands-on modeling, development, and delivery of data assets (interfaces, CI/CD transformation pipelines, data models) are expected as a matter of course.Write efficient, performant, bug-free code using Python, PySpark, SQL to deliver new data assets or enhance existing assets.Lead the design and implementation of ETL/ELT/ELTL processes to extract, transform, and load data to & from Azure cloud platform (Data Lake/Data Warehouse/Delta Lake/AAS) and on Aera Platform etc.Implement data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive information and ensure regulatory requirements are met.Define and establish data governance policies that maintain data quality, compliance, and metadata management in line with business processes and architecture & platform frameworks.Debug and support production issues working with cross-functional teams and resolve issues to mitigate & minimize business impact.Work in close collaboration with other team members and actively participate in Scrum/SAFe ceremonies to plan and deliver the work.Take ownership of the development projects and help steer until completion.Proactively identify areas of improvement in system architecture, design patterns and raise it with the team.Support and guide junior members on technical and functional aspects as needed to deliver as per plans.Up version ITMS documentation such as Architecture Decks, System Design Documentation, System Access Plan, System Test Cases and Results, CAPA, AAR documents.Ensure all risks, blockers and issues associated with owned tasks are promptly recorded and managed in the appropriate Risk & Issue logs.Expected to learn and delivery on new technology tools & platforms such Aera Technologies, C3.ai etc.Required Experience & QualificationsBE or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or equivalent experience, with a preference on experience and proven track record. An ideal candidate would have a hands-on work history in an advanced, recognized, and innovative environment.10+ year of experience in working in a product-oriented cross-functional squads in developing, owning, and extending Data and AI products.7+ years of hands-on experience on Azure data analytics stack: Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SQL DW, Cosmos DB, Power BI, PowerApps, AKS, etc.Seasoned coder in the relevant languages: Python, SQL, PySpark etc.Production experience of building and deploying CI/CD pipelines and code repo such as Github is needed.Fully conversant with big-data processing approaches and "schema-on-read" methodologies.
