The candidate will need to be self-motivated and prepared to work to tight deadlines. The Principal Engineer, Test Automation will be writing and reviewing Test Plans and Test Cases based on Business Requirements and/or User Stories with or without Acceptance Criteria. The role includes building and maintaining test scripts using an automation test tool including TDD/BDD techniques.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Developers, Product Owner and other stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle and be involved in the continuous improvement of our softwareImpact assessment of change and identification of scope of regression testing for software enhancementsAnalysis of use cases and test cases for new projectsBuild and maintain test scripts using an automation test tool including TDD/BDD techniquesCreate and maintain test automation frameworksApply the latest techniques in test automationUse risk driven techniquesReport KPIs to ManagementWork with the Development team to capture and re use Automated test cases and other development test objectsWrite Test Plans and Test Cases through evaluating Business Requirements, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria or through interaction with product stakeholders and developers.Design functional, non-functional and structural tests for new system releases and enhancementsMentoring team members in testing principles and testing strategiesImplement process improvements and be analytical and methodical in your approach to new problemsEnsure quality and consistency of all testing deliverablesOrganise/Prioritise own workload to optimize productivity and achieve targetsBe very thorough in your approach to testing and able to quickly understand complex requirementsCapturing test metrics in every test phase and reporting status to the leadsQualificationsB.E/B. Tech in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication / Electrical or related fieldEducation and/or Experiencea. Must have experience:Experience of leading/mentoring a testing team10+ years experience of test automationStrong Java and Selenium Webdriver experience5+ years experience of testing large and complex software applicationsFull knowledge of typical Development Life CyclesExperience of working within an Agile/Scrum development environmentb. Desirable experience:Knowledge of the healthcare sector, including software products designed for clinical useExperience of JIRA, Confluence, GIT and JenkinsExperience of building and executing database queries (SQL)Some exposure to PHP for basic debuggingISEB/ISTQB Certificate in Software TestingBaxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace.
