Position Summary IT CORE Services provides critical IT services to the entire BMS Enterprise, including Cybersecurity, Access, Networking, Hosting, Support Services, Tech Adoption and Productivity services to name a few. This role is in the Technical Solutions team in IT CORE Services. Technical Solutions is a team of BMS employees along with approximately 150+ managed service provider resources delivered through HCL, Cognizant and Accenture. Technical Solutions is an integral part of the complete lifecycle of hosting and application management - from creation to retirement. The DevOps Engineering AWS Architect is part of a Full Stack application support team. They will design and deploy cloud-native architectures using BMS standard solutions in AWS. They will ensure that our cloud solutions are scalable, secure, and meet best practice standards. Additionally, this role is integral to the CI/CD process, promoting smooth deployment and management of applications within the AWS ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Help execute BMS Cloud/Hosting Strategy, including Application Re-platforming & Refactoring. Craft and execute AWS cloud infrastructure designs that promote scalability, resilience, and cost-efficiency. Utilize AWS services such as Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, and more to establish modern infrastructures. Ensure the architectural blueprints meet compliance and security mandates. Develop and manage Cloud Formation templates or Terraform scripts to standardize provisioning of AWS resources. Champion repeatability and consistency in infrastructure deployments. Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines tailored for AWS using tools like Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline, and AWS CodeBuild. Collaborate with the software development teams to ensure seamless application deployment to AWS. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions leveraging AWS Cloud Watch, AWS X-Ray, and other relevant tools. Routinely assess and enhance architecture for performance and cost efficiency. Responsible for application access control, security baseline monitoring, security education and awareness, threat, and vulnerability management. Maintain the systems that support software development, deployment, and operations. Utilize automated testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to ensure the quality and stability of application releases. Support and use the DevOps delivery model and Agile project delivery methodology. Identify and implement improvements to the organization\'s DevOps practices and processes. Evaluate effectiveness of the DevOps hosted applications and make recommendations for improvement. Manage incidents, requests and implement changes leveraging ITIL tools and processes. Serve as escalation point for application related issues and operational incidents (on a 24 x 7 x 365 calendar). Ensure applications have an appropriate run support model, including monitoring and escalation processes. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with other technical groups on technology issues and solutions. Work with Cyber Security team to maintain security and data protection for portfolio of applications. Work closely with developers, operations, security, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide architectural solutions while ensuring the reliability and scalability of a portfolio of applications. Educate and mentor teams on AWS best practices, patterns, and tools. Support tech debt management by working closely with the application owners by maintaining tech stack. Develop and maintain documentation. Document architectural patterns, decisions, and best practices. Produce training content and guides for teams to maximize the potential of AWS resources. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years\' experience in software development, cloud architecture, or DevOps roles, with at least 2 years dedicated to AWS. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer credentials. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell). Familiarity with agile software development methodologies. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Proficient with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet. Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK or Prometheus. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to succeed in a matrixed environment and to influence adoption of new thinking and technology. Strong learning agility. Exhibit a positive work approach, with high productivity and a collaborative spirit. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail. Problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities. Experienced in working with managed service providers. Solid knowledge of AWS services and architectural best practices. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to break down intricate technical concepts to a varied audience. Familiarity with Pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, infrastructure qualification and validation of applications.
