Job Summary:
The Principal/Counsellor at The Navyandra School will combine leadership, administrative oversight, and dedicated student support services. This unique dual role involves leading the academic and operational aspects of the school while also providing emotional, psychological, and career counseling for students. The individual will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and positive environment that supports both academic excellence and the emotional well-being of students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Administration:
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of The Navyandra School, ensuring the highest standards of academic achievement and student development.
• Lead the development and implementation of curriculum strategies that promote excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities.
• Manage faculty and staff performance, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with local education regulations and institutional policies.
• Foster a school culture of respect, responsibility, and collaboration.
• Oversee school-wide activities, special events, and community engagement efforts.
• Supervise the admissions, enrollment, and student retention processes, ensuring that students' needs and aspirations are met.
• Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and the school community regarding academic progress and well-being.
• Counselling and Student Support:
• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
• Develop and implement mental health programs to foster emotional well-being and personal growth among students.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and staff to identify students who need additional academic or psychological support and provide timely interventions.
• Offer guidance in career planning, college applications, and preparation for post-school success.
• Lead initiatives to promote anti-bullying efforts, conflict resolution, and peer support.
• Provide crisis counseling during times of emotional distress or trauma, offering immediate support and resources.
• Facilitate programs that build resilience, empathy, and interpersonal skills among students.
• Curriculum and Academic Development:
• Ensure that the academic curriculum aligns with The Navyandra School's vision of excellence, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Support the development of personalized learning paths for students with diverse needs, including students with learning disabilities and those requiring advanced support.
• Work closely with faculty members to integrate social-emotional learning into the academic curriculum and school environment.
• Monitor student academic performance, ensuring timely interventions are made when necessary.
• Professional Development:
• Advocate for and support the ongoing professional development of staff, especially in areas related to mental health awareness, student counseling, and student-centered teaching practices.
• Regularly assess educational trends, counseling methods, and mental health practices to ensure The Navyandra School remains at the forefront of student development.
• Community Engagement and Communication:
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support student success.
• Represent the school at local and regional events, conferences, and meetings as needed.
• Promote community-building activities within the school and in collaboration with the wider community to support students' emotional, academic, and social growth.
• Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness programs for parents, staff, and students on topics like mental health, career planning, and academic success.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?28,465.68 - ?40,000.00 per month
