About the Role,



Principal Architect is a key role in Quickplay with the following responsibilities:



• Define architecture strategy and roadmap for the Quickplay Video Platform to continue to be a world-class product.
• Define architecture design process, tools, and technologies to accelerate the product development, minimize cost and improve the quality of the product.
• Document, communicate and socialize the product architecture with all the stakeholders using standard architecture process documentation tools.
• Manage architecture governance and architecture change control process.
• Evaluate technology and business partners / vendors, 3rd party tools and technologies to augment the Quickplay Video Platform capabilities.
• Defining solution design to implement Quickplay Video Platform for a new customer / partner.
• Quickplay staff reports into offices in a hybrid capacity •(i.e partially at home, and partially at the office based on role/team needs)• leveraging safety protocols aligned with local public health guidelines as they relate to COVID-19.




Required Technical Skills


• Must have experience designing E2E solutions involving multiple functional components
+ Multi-platform Clients - Browsers, Android, iOS, Smart TVs, Media Players etc.
+ Lightweight microservice based application backend with multiple protocols - HTTP, QUIC, gRPC, Pub/Sub, Kafka, SFTP, FTP, etc.
+ Application Monitoring - Application Performance, Synthetic Monitoring
+ Analytics and Reporting - BI, Analytics, Data Pipeline, Data Governance and Reporting
+ Centralized Security - SSO, ACL, RBAC, ABAC etc
+ DevOps, DevSecOps and GitOps based operations.
• Must have the ability to identify the right tools, technology, framework, and process for a successful world-class solution.
• Must have experience in designing cloud agnostic solutions that can be deployed on all popular public clouds.
• Must have experience in designing solutions involving cloud applications, services and APIs provided by popular cloud providers - Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS
• Must have experience in designing solutions involving Serverless Computing in Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Must have experience in designing hybrid cloud solution - Open Stack, Microsoft Azure Stack Hub, Google Anthos, AWS Outposts, etc.
• Must have experience in Agile Development Methodology.
• Should have experience or understanding of the following programming languages:
+ Go Lang, Javascript, Typescript, Swift, Kotlin, Brightscript, Java, etc.
• Should have experience in video streaming tools and technologies for Live Video Streaming and On-Demand video streaming - IPTV/OTT
• Should have experience in video engineering - Video / Audio encoding / transcoding, packaging and delivery.
• Should have experience in 3rd party video streaming and distribution solutions - AWS Elemental, Ateme, Broadpeak, MediaExcel, Unified Streaming, Akamai, Limelight, Bitmovin, Wowza etc.




Required Experience


• Must have at least 10 years of experience in software engineering, design and development.
• Must have at least 3 years of relevant experience as Solution Architect / Technical Architect.
• Education: Graduate / Post-Graduate.
