The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:1. Architecture as Code: this pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise.2. Architecture as Design: this pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support.3. Governance: this pillar is responsible for defining technical standards, and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance.4. Colleague Enablement: this pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach.The Role:As American Express makes strides in growing as a bank, the company is entering into a technology governance transformation phase. This is driven by opportunities to define architecture standards, standardize architecture artifact documents format and content, and measure and report on adoption and quality of architecture standards across the enterprise. In addition, this transformation also includes defining and implementing strategies for improving resiliency and strengthening the software delivery lifecycle but further standardizing platform testing practices via defining testing standards, and measurement of adoption and effectiveness of the prescribed standards across the enterprise.This Principal Architect position in Enterprise Architecture will be a thought-leader in the Architecture Governance pillar and provide structure to the disciplines of Architecture Governance and Testing Strategy (examples: Architecture Policies and Standards, measurement and reporting of adherence to architecture standards, regulatory, audit and compliance, etc.). They must have knowledge of executing governance of architecture disciplines at scale in a large enterprise. This person must have excellent thought leadership and a strong ability to influence decisions in a matrixed organization without direct hierarchical reporting structure.Responsibilities:
