Step into the role of a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase and become a driving force behind the development and adoption of cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.


As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset Management Architecture function, your role will be to utilize your expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies. You will also support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Your advanced architecture capabilities will be leveraged to collaborate with colleagues across the organization and promote best-in-class outcomes. We are seeking an experienced Architect with strong Investment Management and Domain Architecture expertise to join our team and provide thought leadership across a variety of major cross-cutting initiatives. This role will be based in India (Bengaluru or Mumbai), emphasizing the importance of maintaining a close working relationship with our business and technology partners in the region.

Job responsibilities

• Advises and leads on strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across the Asset Management portfolio
• Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm's innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about target state architecture
• Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
• Drives adoption and implementation of data architecture specifications in technology solutions
• Establishes and leads an architecture governance body
• Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
• Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
• Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
• Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
• Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 10+ years applied experience
• Deep Asset Management experience working across Fixed Income, Equities, and Multi-Asset asset classes
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Expertise in one or more programming language(s)
• Deep knowledge in one or more software, applications, and architecture
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
• Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
• Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills • Experience working at code level
• Experience with Alternative asset classes
