Job Summary:
The Pre-Primary Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the pre-primary education program within the residential school. This role involves managing the curriculum, supervising staff, and ensuring the effective implementation of educational activities for young children aged 3-6 years. The Coordinator works closely with teachers, parents, and school administration to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of pre-primary students.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation
• Develop, review, and update the pre-primary curriculum in alignment with educational standards and the school's vision.
• Ensure that the curriculum meets the developmental needs of children and integrates innovative teaching methods and resources.
• Design and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities
Staff Supervision and Development
• Recruit, train, and supervise pre-primary teachers and support staff.
• Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members.
Program Management
• Oversee the daily operations of the pre-primary program, including scheduling, classroom management, and resource allocation.
• Ensure that all classrooms are well-organized, safe, and conducive to learning.
• Manage budgets for classroom supplies and materials.
Student Support and Development
• Monitor and assess students' progress, identifying individual needs and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, address concerns, and provide guidance on supporting their child's education.
Administrative Duties
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and other administrative tasks.
• Prepare reports on the program's effectiveness, student outcomes, and staff performance for school leadership.
Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate with other school departments and staff to ensure the smooth integration of the pre-primary program with the broader school curriculum.
• Organize and participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and community outreach programs.
• Act as a liaison between the school and external agencies or organizations as needed.
Compliance and Safety
• Ensure that all activities comply with educational regulations, safety standards, and health protocols.
• Develop and enforce policies related to child protection, health, and safety in the pre-primary setting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a pre-primary or early childhood education setting.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students.
