• Curriculum Planning and Implementation :
• Develop and implement a child-centered, age-appropriate curriculum for the pre-primary grades (Nursery, KG, and Prep), aligned with the CBSE framework.
• Ensure that the curriculum incorporates various developmental domains, including cognitive, motor, social-emotional, and language development.
• Integrate play-based learning, experiential activities, and hands-on experiences into the curriculum to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in young children.
• Regularly review and update the curriculum to incorporate best practices and contemporary trends in early childhood education.
• Teacher Support and Mentoring :
• Provide leadership and mentorship to pre-primary teachers, offering guidance on teaching strategies, classroom management, and child development.
• Conduct regular observations of classrooms to assess teaching methods and ensure that children's needs are being met.
• Organize professional development workshops and training sessions for pre-primary teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Foster a collaborative environment among teachers to promote sharing of resources, ideas, and effective teaching practices.
• Classroom Management and Environment :
• Ensure that classrooms are safe, engaging, and conducive to learning, with an emphasis on creating a stimulating and welcoming environment for young children.
• Promote the use of educational resources, visual aids, and materials that are developmentally appropriate and support the learning objectives.
• Oversee the arrangement and maintenance of classrooms, ensuring they are child-friendly and accessible.
• Assessment and Monitoring of Student Progress :
• Implement regular observation, assessment, and documentation strategies to monitor the developmental progress of each child.
• Work with teachers to assess the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children and provide feedback to parents.
• Support teachers in identifying and addressing any learning challenges or developmental concerns.
• Track children's progress and implement interventions or modifications to the curriculum as necessary to meet individual needs.
• Parent Communication and Engagement :
• Act as a liaison between parents and teachers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Organize parent-teacher meetings, orientation sessions, and workshops to promote active parental involvement in the child's education.
• Provide guidance and support to parents on how to nurture their child's development at home, including communication, learning activities, and social skills.
• Promoting Holistic Development :
• Ensure that the curriculum promotes the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
• Plan and implement activities that encourage social skills, creativity, communication, and emotional well-being.
• Organize extracurricular activities such as storytelling, music, dance, art, and physical games that contribute to the overall development of children.
• Collaboration with School Administration and Staff :
• Work closely with the school's leadership team to ensure that the pre-primary section's goals align with the school's overall vision and objectives.
• Collaborate with the primary section and other departments to ensure a smooth transition for students from pre-primary to primary education.
• Participate in school-wide events, celebrations, and programs, ensuring that the pre-primary section is appropriately represented.
• Safety and Well-being of Children :
• Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and secure environment, following the necessary safety protocols and guidelines.
• Regularly check and maintain the safety of play areas, toys, and learning materials to ensure they meet health and safety standards.
• Promote positive behavior management strategies and encourage healthy habits such as hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity.
• Professional Development and Research :
• Stay updated with current trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education.
• Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to further professional development and bring new ideas and innovations to the pre-primary section.
• Encourage teachers to pursue continuous professional development and to apply research-based strategies in the classroom.
• Administration and Record-Keeping :
• Maintain accurate records of children's developmental progress, attendance, and other important documentation.
• Oversee the planning and execution of events such as annual functions, field trips, and celebrations that involve pre-primary students.
• Prepare reports for school management and parents regarding students' progress and the effectiveness of the pre-primary program.
