Job Overview:
The Cambridge Coordinator for the Prep Section plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum for young learners. This individual will ensure that the curriculum is delivered effectively and that the teaching staff is supported in meeting educational standards and fostering a positive learning environment for children in the preparatory grades.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Implementation :
• Oversee the successful implementation of the Cambridge curriculum in the prep section.
• Align lesson plans and teaching methodologies with Cambridge standards.
• Ensure the integration of holistic learning approaches tailored to early years education.
• Teacher Support and Development :
• Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to prep section teachers on Cambridge-specific teaching strategies.
• Organize workshops and professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching quality.
• Assessment and Evaluation :
• Coordinate the implementation of Cambridge assessment methods, including formative and summative evaluations.
• Monitor student progress and ensure the regular reporting of outcomes to parents and school management.
• Assist teachers in creating assessment materials and understanding the grading process according to Cambridge guidelines.
• Communication and Collaboration :
• Act as the primary liaison between the prep section and the Cambridge International organization.
• Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and the school administration regarding curriculum goals and student progress.
• Promote collaborative efforts within the prep teaching team to ensure the sharing of best practices.
• Resource Management :
• Ensure that all necessary teaching materials and resources align with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Work with the school administration to procure relevant textbooks, learning aids, and digital tools.
• Event Coordination :
• Plan and execute Cambridge-related events, workshops, and exhibitions to showcase student learning and achievements.
• Lead the coordination of parent-teacher meetings and informational sessions on Cambridge educational philosophy and practices.
• Compliance and Reporting :
• Ensure that the school complies with all Cambridge International standards and policies.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on curriculum implementation, student outcomes, and other key performance indicators to the school administration.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a Master's degree or Cambridge certification preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching or coordinating experience, preferably in a Cambridge-affiliated school.
• Skills :
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment methods.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and handle diverse student needs.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position with responsibilities that may occasionally extend beyond regular school hours for events, meetings, or training sessions.
