Job Description


:In this role, you will be directly reporting to Head of Section- PSP.The responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively on power system studies projects such as Network Modelling, Steady State, Dynamic studies and stability studies of Generation Plants.
  • Project Management in Power system studies on Renewable energy (onshore and offshore wind, solar, BESS) grid integration.
  • Performing Load flow studies, system loss calculations, short circuit study, transient & dynamic stability study, voltage stability study, performing short circuit, Energization and black start studies, Breaker sizing studies and insulation coordination.
  • Experience with RMS and EMT power system simulation packages such as PSS/E, PSCAD/EMTDC and MATLAB/SIMULINK.
  • Functional knowledge of Balance of Plant (BoP), including Transformer, switchgear, cables/overhead, Lines, reactors, STATCOM technical specifications, Earthing design calculation as per IS/IEEE.

Internal & External contacts:
  • The successful candidate will be in regular contact (phone/email/meetings) with the Client Developers, OEMs and Grid Operator(s).
  • The successful candidate will be in regular contact with his/her own team, Line Manager and other Head of Sections.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with other engineers in their local offices and will have contact with the wider electrical community.

  • Bachelor/Master's Full Time Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-6 years of significant relevant experience in power system simulation studies especially using PSCAD.
  • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports in English.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate a clear technical direction.
  • Ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment- operating to tight timescales.
  • Willingness to work on site and travel to customer premises as on when needed.
  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal communication and organizations skills are a must, including the capability to explain complete technical issues to decision makers and project teams. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.
  • Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages especially MS-Excel.
  • Capable of working as part of an integrated global team.
Desirable:
  • Hands on Experience in Power System Software like PSCAD, EMTP RV, DigSILENT Power Factory.
  • Preferred experience in Grid integration and stability studies of RE plants and thermal plants using PSCAD or EMTP-RV (EMT simulation software).
  • In-Depth functional Knowledge on Converter/Inverter Controls, modes of operation. Power quality aspects (harmonics and filter design) of RE plants, Reactive Power compensation devices such as STATCOMs, SVGs
  • Ideally experienced in the design and study of windfarm, BESS and Solar plant electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of Indian and International standards and able to interpret the technical requirements.
