Global Operations Engineering
Plant Operations EngineeringWe Deliver Plant Operation Enhancement To Vestas Service Stakeholders By Engineering Innovative Solutions And Leading Plant Operations SME Communities. We will support Vestas Service business by making tools and processes available to perform the service in the most beneficial and structured way. We provide technical support to Service Operations stakeholders on legacy Plant products, Plant Cyber Security and electrical models (GCC and BoP).We maintain communications and promote knowledge sharing across Vestas global and regional Vestas Service stakeholders. Ensure the operational readiness of Plant products and service deliveries To provide solutions for Service Operations, covering lifetime operation optimization, supporting Vestas Aftersales business and fulfilling Vestas obligation of maintaining the Plant products under Service.Responsibilities

  • As a Power Plant Control Engineer in Global Plant Operations Engineering department, you will be a core member of the engineering team that brings together the ideas across the electrical area into value adding projects
  • Your area of responsibility will be, but not excluded to: Provide technical control solutions for installed Vestas Power Plant operations, provide Vestas PPC software products, considering all brand equipment
  • Maintain current Vestas PPC installed power plants\' performance to support the grid
  • Propose and implement design concepts for all types of power plant control solutions for installed power plant upgrading
  • Conduct verification tests and generate reports for proving the control solutions
  • Provide technical solutions to address specific challenges on integrating multiple types of asset units with wind turbines for installed power plants into the grid without impacting stability and reliability
  • Collect requirements from all regions
  • Provide Service requirements to VPS for new products development
  • Interface with electrical modeling team for installed Gen Units and Power Plant Controller, with focus on delivering highest possible quality
  • Participate in cross functional teams developing power system related functionality of wind turbines and power plant controllers
  • Lead and secure performance and quality of hybrid power plant simulations models through testing and validation
  • Review and ensure engineering designs and supporting the other engineers in the project team
  • Scope and specify tasks to reach department and project goals
  • Contribute to the technical area roadmap and strategy
  • Support aftersales business roadmap for power plant operations solutions
  • Contribute to power plant lifetime grid compliance solutions
  • Support PPC software certification work for installed power plant operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Software Engineering or an Electrical Engineering or a Power System Engineering
  • Understanding on plant operations and grid stability
  • Experience in software design for industrial control applications, and comfortable working with hardware experts
  • Experience in SCADA systems, power plant controllers and networking equipment
  • Experience in handling end to end complex technical projects
  • Experience in technical communication skills with the ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and handle stakeholder expectations
  • Experience in handling projects and activities in a very innovative environment
  • Supervise sub-contractors and sub suppliers
  • Certified Prince2 practitioner
  • Familiar with MATLAB Simulink
  • Familiar with PSCAD or PowerFactory
  • Advantage if familiar with RSLogix
