Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces of metal parts by cleaning, sandblasting, or chemically treating to remove dirt, oils, and other contaminants.
• Operate powder coating equipment to apply coating to metal parts and components.
• Ensure that coating thickness and quality meet specifications by inspecting finished products.
• Maintain and operate spray booths, ovens, and other related equipment.
• Mix powder coating materials according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure proper consistency and finish.
• Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, sags, and uneven coverage, and correct any issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Follow safety procedures for handling materials and operating equipment, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Monitor inventory levels of coating materials and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to powder coating processes.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment problems and perform minor maintenance.
• Complete necessary documentation regarding work completed, materials used, and production numbers.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in powder coating or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience in powder coating, painting, or similar manufacturing roles.
• Knowledge of powder coating processes, techniques, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and safety data sheets.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Familiarity with the use of spray guns, air compressors, and oven equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a standing or bending position.
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts (up to 50 lbs) frequently.
• Exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and potentially hazardous chemicals (with proper safety equipment).

Working Conditions:

• The work environment is typically a production floor or industrial setting.
• The position may involve exposure to dust, fumes, and noise from machinery and equipment.
• Full personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn at all times.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ?13,000.00 - ?22,000.00 per month
