The PostgreSQL Database Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and consistency of data. The DBA will also be involved in the design and implementation of database solutions, data migration, backup, and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of databases.
• Perform database tuning, monitoring, and optimization.
• Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
• Perform data migration and transformation tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams to design database solutions.
• Create and manage database users and roles.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Ensure compliance with data security policies and standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations for database support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture and internals.
• Experience with database tuning and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery techniques.
• Understanding of data security and encryption.
• Experience with SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Certification in PostgreSQL administration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?300,000.00 - ?650,000.00 per year
