About the Role: We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security. You will play a critical role in database design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL database servers and tools.
• Monitor database performance and conduct proactive tuning for optimization.
• Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to ensure high availability.
• Manage database security, including access controls, roles, and user permissions.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database performance, queries, and indexing.
• Implement database best practices, including auditing, monitoring, and data retention policies.
• Support data migration, replication, and clustering initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of database optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with backup and recovery processes, as well as disaster recovery planning.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Familiarity with replication, clustering, and high availability solutions in PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and data encryption.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PostgreSQL certification (a plus).
• Experience with other databases like MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
