Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the field of Nuclear Structure Physics . The selected candidate will work with Prof. Sujit K. Tandel in the Department of Physics, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE) Deemed to be University, Delhi-NCR 201314.


Qualifications and eligibility : PhD in Physics with specialization in the field of Nuclear Physics. The candidate should have an excellent background and experience in Nuclear Physics experiments, especially gamma-ray spectroscopy using semiconductor and scintillation detectors with both analog and digital electronics. The candidate should be able to independently perform measurements with various radiation detectors and digital electronics in the Nuclear Structure Physics laboratory at the SNIoE. It is expected that the candidate will be able to take the lead in analyzing data from experiments, including those using large gamma-ray detector arrays. The candidate should be proficient with data reduction and analysis software for spectroscopic data and have a good knowledge of programming.


Desirable : Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhD degree within the last five years.


Fellowship : Rs. 65,000/- per month consolidated (subject to tax deduction). Campus accommodation will be provided based on availability for a nominal charge.


Duration : 1 year (a further extension of one year is possible based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds).

Tandel (sujit.tandel@snu.edu.in). The email attachments should not exceed 20 MB. The candidate should arrange for two reference letters to be sent in support of their applications. The deadline for receiving applications and reference letters is August 12, 2024 . The selected candidate will be expected to join by September 1, 2024.
