Applications are invited for a DBT sponsored international collaborative research project for the following post for a two year period: Fresh candidates with high quality academic research experience will be preferred.

POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Recent PhD in biological sciences with a consistently good academic record. Should have experience in the following areas.

1. Basic protein purification and proteomics methodologies. Using chromatography techniques for purification and analysis of the peptides and antibody fragments. Basic immune- histochemistry techniques and ELISA assays. Ability to develop protein characterization assays like affinity, avidity and stability studies.

2. General molecular biology techniques pertaining to cloning and expression of genes. Should be conversant with bioinformatic approaches to oligonucleotide design, in silico cloning and bioinformatic approaches for analyzing sequences, identifying genes and the use of basic alignment tools.

3. Microbiology and cell biology techniques and •in vitro• assay development for anti-cancer and anti - infective molecules under development.

4. Designing animal study experiments, analyzing and reporting of the results. Basic knowledge and some experience of DMPK and toxicity studies will be desirable.

Writing of scholarly scientific papers and grants. Familiarity with latest plotting software, statistical analyses and artistic rendition of scientific hypotheses
