About this opportunity We are looking for a Post Production Engineer to join our team who support post-production facilities owned or operated by Red Bee Media within the London area. You should have knowledge of post-production systems, technologies, workflows, and processes and should be abreast of modern developments within the industry. Post Production Engineers are responsible for the technical infrastructure used to provide Playout and Media Management services, including some 3rd line technical support, technical design, and project implementation. The Engineer should be knowledgeable of all known issues, planned work and proposed changes in their operational area, safeguarding the live operation by thoroughly reviewing planned work to ensure successful implementation and acceptance into the support operation. The role is one of the key customer facing roles within the department and therefore the Engineer must not only possess good technical skills, but must also have strong customer facing and interpersonal skills. The role often requires you to take on responsibility and it is important that you can work independently when required. What you will do Post Production Engineers report to the relevant Resource Manager. The Engineers should assist the Operational support staff, promoting good working relationships and practices within the team. They should also form good relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and project managers and our platform development team, as it will be vital to ensure good communications in relation to ongoing problems and project transition into support. Define client specific configurations of RBM platform components Customer Issue handling Receive 3rd Line calls, accurately record, investigate diagnose and resolve Support and train the 1st line team Advance to the Technical Domain Leads for technical guidance, where needed Maintain records and logs of work done using the department service desk tools, on the installation, modification, and repair of systems Perform regular checks of systems, and undertake routine scheduled maintenance on supported technologies Understand ITIL service management principles, with particular focus on Incident, Problem, Change Control and Configuration management policies and processes Identify and supervise trends, ensuring resolutions are progressed and implemented following change control processes Ensure resolution of sophisticated issues are recorded and fed back to the support team in an agreed format and stored in an accessible location Deliver projects on time and on budget with comprehensive support and operational documentation. Focus on customer service and customer quality You will bring Good knowledge and experience in Json XSLT A clear ability to multi-task in a sophisticated multifaceted environment with regularly changing priorities A strong belief in and dedication to structured and formalized approaches to documentation Deep understanding of customer service with the ability to view systems in terms of service provision rather than discrete technical components, and should see technology as a business enabler An understanding that the business will occasionally require the flexibility to work out-of-hours and take ownership of service affecting issues until a satisfactory resolution is reached A desire for personal self-development. A desire to support and enable the development of the rest of the team. Experience of post-production procedures and methods, should be familiar with online/offline workflows Excellent operational knowledge of standard Non-linear editing software including: Avid Media Composer Adobe Premiere Adobe After Effects Apple Final Cut Pro Knowledge & experience of shared storage and asset management systems Avid ISIS Avid Interplay Knowledge and experience of Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems Understanding of QC processes including all relevant technical standards: Knowledge and experience with Automatic QC principles and practice Knowledge and experience (building and testing) with video encoding and transcoding technologies particularly FFMPEG Experience with working with, and translating and processing XML data Platform Technology - Advantageous Configure, design, and implement test plans using: Aurora QC Minnetonka Transcode Vantage Transcoding Desirable Proficiencies: Knowledge of the programming languages C#, .net and GO ACSR Qualifications Knowledge of broadcast video formats, protocols, and encoding standards Knowledge of broadcast video infrastructure, Desirable to have experience with setting up and configuring video & audio matrices, control systems & KVM and PCoIP Matrix systems High level of experience with fundamental IT Principles including Operating Systems (Wintel, MacOs, Linux) Networking (Routing, WAN, Security, Proxy) Authentication (LDAP, AD) Familiarity with API Integration (eg SOAP, REST etc.) Encouraging a diverse and inclusive organization is core to our values at Ericsson, that\'s why we nurture it in everything we do.
