Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties
The incumbent is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on global and security affairs (counterterrorism, insurgencies counterterrorism, insurgencies/separatists, law and order, human rights, development) in the consular district; developing, maintaining and introducing high-level contacts to mission personnel; programming travel for USG employees and official visitor; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS APPLICANTS MUST MEET OPTION 1, OPTION 2, OPTION 3 OR OPTION 4 TO QUALIFY.
Option 1
EXPERIENCE:
For grade 8 is : Six years (6) years of progressive responsible experiences in social science or defense research and analysis, newspaper reporting on political matters, university training or closely related field.
EDUCATION:
Secondary school (equivalent to class XII in India) is required.
Option 2
EXPERIENCE:
For grade 9 is : Seven (7) years of progressive responsible experiences in social science or defense research and analysis, newspaper reporting on political matters, university training or closely related field.
EDUCATION:
Secondary school (equivalent to class XII in India) is required.
Option 3
EXPERIENCE:
For grade 10 is: Eight years (8) years of progressive responsible experiences in social science or defense research and analysis, newspaper reporting on political matters, university training or closely related field.
EDUCATION:
Secondary school (equivalent to class XII in India) is required.

EXPERIENCE:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Monitor, interpret and interrelate political events to economic developments and lucidly explain their significance. Initiative and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain extensive senior-level contacts. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and internet browsing applications).

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Kolkata, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
