Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Were flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

The Police Liaison team is primarily responsible for the receipt, analysis, validation and investigative response to comply with Data Protection Act Requests, Sect 7, Pre Order Enquiries and other types of Requests for Information submitted by requesting authorities through the supply of information or the fulfilment DPA requests and pre-order enquiries. All members of the Police Liaison team are expected to contribute to each of these areas to ensure that the Bank and PS&I remain compliant with all, legal, regulatory and internal policies and standards. The primary purpose for this role will be to receive, analyse and respond to DPA request, Sect 7 requests, pre-order enquiries and to log all requests and support provided on the Case Management System. The role holder will also be required to support wider criminal disruption efforts by identifying emerging threats and links in the submitted requests and ongoing or emerging investigations within the Bank. The role holder will work to the highest levels of integrity acting at all times to protect the reputation of Barclays, its colleagues and its customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Use excellent problem solving and team working skills to resolve complex, high- priority DPA, Sect 7 or pre-order enquiries received from law enforcement.
  • Addressing and where appropriate escalating complaints, issues and problems to the Team Leader or relevant channel to achieve the best possible outcome for the customer and the business in line with Regulation and Barclays policy and best practice.
  • Operate the CSO Case Management System ensuring that all cases are correctly documented and managed end to end in compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policies, procedures and processes.
  • Use strong communication skills to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of all data requested as part of the DPA, Sect 7 or pre-order enquiry.
  • Must have sound and comprehensive verbal and written communication skills in order to exchange complex information with other teams in order to ensure that all relevant data is collected as part of the response to the DPA, pre order enquiry or Sect 7 request.
  • Must have strong analytical skills in order to evaluate and then simplify complex information contained within a DPA, pre order enquiry or Sect 7 request, to ensure that all data is collected and then presented to the requesting agency in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sound decision making and understand, based on the circumstances, at what point a matter needs to be escalated / referred to team leadership for a final decision.
  • Contribute to a supportive and proactive working culture by sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members and providing training to colleagues when necessary.
