Job responsibility, testing panel asper PLC logic, quality control documentation and take care field activity whenever required.
PLC programmer designs, develops, implements, and maintains control programs for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation systems, essentially translating operational requirements into code to control machinery and processes within a manufacturing environment, often including tasks like troubleshooting system issues, integrating with HMIs, and ensuring efficient operation of automated equipment.
Program development:
Writing and modifying PLC ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams to control machine functions based on project specifications.
System design:
Collaborating with engineers to understand system requirements, designing control logic, and selecting appropriate PLC hardware.
Wiring and hardware configuration:
Connecting sensors, actuators, and other field devices to the PLC according to wiring diagrams.
Testing and debugging:
Thoroughly testing PLC programs on a simulation environment or on the actual machine to identify and resolve errors.
Commissioning and startup:
Installing and configuring PLC programs on-site, including parameter tuning and system validation.
Documentation:
Creating detailed technical documentation of PLC programs, including comments, logic diagrams, and system layouts.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing and resolving issues with PLC programs, hardware, and system integration on the production floor.
Maintenance and support:
Providing ongoing support for existing PLC systems, including updates, modifications, and troubleshooting assistance.
Required skills and qualifications:
PLC programming knowledge:
Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming languages used in major PLC brands (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron)
Electrical engineering fundamentals:
Understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and industrial sensors
Mechanical knowledge:
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and how they interact with PLC controls
Problem-solving abilities:
Strong analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot complex system issues
Communication skills:
Ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to clearly understand project requirements
