Job Description
Conduct initial and follow-up assessments of all ICU patients.
Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including those on ventilators and life support systems.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the ICU.
Initiate and monitor treatment protocols under the supervision of ICU consultants.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Participate in daily ICU rounds and update consultants on patient status.
Order and interpret investigations, including blood tests, imaging, and ECGs.
Liaise with other departments (e.g., radiology, pathology) as needed for patient care.
Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to procedures.
Supervise and guide junior residents or interns, if applicable.
Maintain infection control practices and adhere to hospital protocols.
Provide emotional support and counseling to patient families when required.
