Job Title: Plant HR ManagerLocation: [City, State]Department: Human ResourcesReports to: Plant Manager / HR DirectorPosition Type: Full-timeJob Summary:The Plant HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions at the manufacturing plant, ensuring the effective management of HR policies and procedures, employee relations, recruitment, training and development, and compliance with labor laws. This role involves working closely with plant management to support the plant's operational goals and foster a positive work environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy Implementation: Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy of the plant.
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees to meet plant staffing needs.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns and grievances, conduct investigations, and facilitate conflict resolution. Promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and performance. Oversee the implementation of training initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance appraisal process, provide guidance to managers on performance issues, and support the development of performance improvement plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and update policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation programs, including salary reviews, promotions, and benefits administration. Ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • Safety and Health: Collaborate with the safety team to promote a safe work environment. Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations and support initiatives to improve workplace safety.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to plant management and HR leadership.
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and implement employee engagement programs to enhance morale, retention, and overall job satisfaction.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures specific to the plant. Ensure employees are informed and understand company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Previous HR management experience is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
