Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Scheduling:
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules, outlining the sequence of activities, milestones, and timelines.
• Use project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to create and manage project schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and inputs for planning.
• Resource Allocation:
• Identify and allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment) required for the project.
• Ensure optimal use of resources to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Budgeting and Cost Control:
• Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation and forecasting.
• Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to stay within budget.
• Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize their impact on the project schedule and budget.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans as necessary.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track project progress against the plan and schedule, and update schedules as needed.
• Prepare and present progress reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and address any deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Act as a liaison between different departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction) to ensure smooth project execution.
• Facilitate regular meetings with project teams to review progress, discuss issues, and coordinate activities.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that all planning activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of project plans and schedules.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and mentor a team of planners and schedulers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
This role is integral to the successful delivery of construction projects, requiring a combination of technical expertise, managerial skills, and strategic thinking.
