We are already underway in reshaping our finance operations capability, focusing on end-to-end processes to encourage standardisation and support the creation of an effective control environment.Why this role mattersThe Plan to Perform process tower is fundamental in ensuring that BT has effective and accurate management / performance reporting and planning capabilities, which are aligned with key analysis activities and part of the Finance Vision.This role will be responsible for establishing the next phase of global process ownership (GPO) for Plan to Perform and manage the Finance SAP master data dimensions and BW functionality to ensure best in class financial processes.This role will play a critical part in the delivery of the Plan to Perform Roadmap to improve the BW reporting suite and SAP master data with the Plan to Perform tower that unpins Management and Planning reporting needs. That is supported by managing and maintaining the master data organisation, standards, definitions, and data quality controls.As well as establishing and maintaining data quality standards and processes to identify and rectify data quality issues proactively. Defining the data stewardship roles and responsibilities and lead data stewards to maintain data quality.Builds strong relationships with SAP product leads and business teams to enable collaboration with cross functions teams to ensure seamless integrations of master data and BW enhancements across systems and applications.What I'll be doingKey tasks:

  • Owner of the Plan to Perform SAP dimension Master data Roadmap and business partnering to wider Group FP&A teams to ensure streamless implication of SAP objects and management of impact assessment of downstream systems and other reporting needs.
  • Finance systems ownership of BW system and support with driving changes and working with Digital to plan and implement changes.
  • Provide subject matter knowledge on processes and workflows within the BW system.
  • To provide and understand the requirements behind a change and the technical implications of it.
  • Gather and analyse data to develop and investigate potential solutions.
  • Able to understand and explain the impact of a change from the perspective of the user.
  • Support the prioritisation of decision making of the product owner for BW changes.
  • Supports build, testing and delivery into live.
  • Responsible for Plan to Perform SAP dimensions (Product, GL, KPIs, COPA) and sign off any changes via Collibra with SLA's.
  • Responsible for the Finance Product Board and Product governance to make SAP product changes are in line with BT product portfolio.
  • Demonstrate process excellence and lead on continuous improvement activities that will mature and optimise our processes.
  • Managing demand into Centre of Excellence and BT Digital teams for BW expertise and driving internal stakeholders to deliver jointly agreed outputs to develop a roadmap of initiatives to deliver that vision.
  • Create/establish and manage a network of SAP data stewards within the units and provide training on data governance tools and correct use of the SAP Master data dimension
  • Own the documentation for Plan to Perform owned SAP dimensions and provide and publish best in class guidance.
The skills and experience you needNecessary
  • BW expertise and understanding BW functionality and understanding finance requirements
  • Process mapping/continuous improvements: to perform complex process mapping, design and change for Plan to Perform processes across major organisation, identify areas for improvements
  • Finance and/or FP&A experience and management reporting
  • Experience in SAP master data governance
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills: this is a client facing role, you need to be comfortable talking to technical and non-technical people and have the ability to have difficult conversations
  • FP&A Process: previous experience with FP&A processes across planning and reporting
  • Understanding of SAP information Model: SAP is our new ERP system; it would be of advantage if you have SAP experience and understanding of SAP information model
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP and understanding of BW/BPC-C/BPC-P
  • You are able to balance bold ambition with realistic expectations, managing transformational change within an environment of multiple demands
Desirable
  • Qualified or partially qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) or relevant technical experience
