Position Overview:

As a faculty member specializing in Physics, your expertise will contribute to the academic excellence and professional development of the aspiring marine professionals.

Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students and enhance their learning experience. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to our students. Promoting a positive, purposeful and professional working atmosphere that encourages cooperation and challenge, whilst valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Course Delivery:

Deliver lectures on Physics topics, to teach language skill, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a focus on maritime communication relevant to marine engineering and navigation.

Implement curriculum tailored to the needs of marine students, integrating marine-specific applications of Physics.

Ensure that course content is up to date, aligned with curriculum standards, and meets the learning objectives.

2. Student Engagement:

Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Plan and prepare well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught.

Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic and personal growth.

Offer additional support and mentoring to students who need help.

Maintain open communication with students to address their concerns and provide guidance.

3. Assessment and Evaluation:

Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, and practical assessments.

Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their language proficiency.

4. Curriculum Development:

Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Physics curriculum, incorporating best practices and innovative teaching methodologies.

Integrate real-world applications of Physics into the curriculum to enhance students' understanding and relevance.

5. Professional Development:

Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Physics and teaching pedagogies.

Participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Engage in continuous professional development activities, such as attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions.

6. Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Physics at an Engineering college, must have undergone B.Ed./M.Ed. or VICT/TOTA (Vertical Integrated Course for Trainers) certification or in a Marine college with FIN (Faculty Identification Number).

Strong knowledge and expertise in Physics, particularly in areas relevant to marine engineering and navigation.

Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty from other disciplines.
