Key Responsibilities

Planning tasks, events and other physical activity-related assignments for students. Developing an annual plan, lesson plans and assessments for achieving student's performance goals and overall physical education. Teaching tasks that are safe for students and include movements and physical activities. Conducting tests which include physical activities and giving marks based on performance. Collaborating with other staff members and creating curriculum goals for interdisciplinary activities. Communicating with parents about a student's performance and progress. Organising space and equipment for physical activities outside the classroom. Providing an adequate amount of equipment so that every student can perform the task at the same time. Giving valuable knowledge and helping students learn new skills like first aid, inside the classroom so they can perform efficiently in the field. Good communication skills to get comfortable and connect with each student. Ability to teach complex physical activities in simple form so that each student can understand and perform. Confidence to speak and give training in front of a large group of students. Knowledge of healthy foods and nutrition, physiology, and other skills like Karate, kho-kho, Kabaddi etc will be an added advantage. Management and organisational skills to handle the cultural events and various activities in the school like Sports inter-cultural activities, sports day etc. Maintaining Student achievement records in District/State/National level competitions. Collating achievements to be showcased on the school website and the school magazine. Conducting bag checks periodically to check for mobile phones etc. Conducting fire drills twice a year.

Skills and Qualifications:

1+ years of experience preferred in handling secondary and higher secondary classes (CBSE). Familiarity with NEP, the role of physical education in schools, and subject integration. Experience teaching classes IX-XII, conducting events such as Sports Day, and possessing additional NCC qualifications. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Teaching certification/license in Physical and Health Education or equivalent. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Good communication skills in English. Willing to join for the academic year 2025-26.

Additional Information:

The job location is in Chetpet, Chennai. This is an on-site job. School timings are from 7.30 am to 3.00 pm.
