Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Laravel Developer to join our dynamic IT team at our Fort, CST office. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing web applications using PHP (Core and Laravel) , code repository management ( GIT ), managing servers, and maintaining legacy applications while adhering to industry best practices. This role requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of projects, and ensure the performance, security, and scalability of our applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Core PHP and Laravel Framework .
• Proficiency in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with MVC architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and DigitalOcean.
• Proficiency in server management (Linux, Apache/Nginx), including security hardening and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows and repository management tools like GitHub or GitLab.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks such as Vue.js or React (preferred but optional).
• Experience with testing framework s like PHPUnit and tools for automated testing.
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development and Maintenance
• Develop, maintain, and upgrade existing applications built in Core PHP and Laravel .
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to industry standards.
• Debug, optimize, and refactor code to ensure high performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Server Management
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud servers like Amazon AWS , DigitalOcean , or equivalent.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance, ensuring uptime and optimal configurations.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth and reliable deployments.
• Legacy System Support
• Conduct audits of existing applications and identify areas for improvement.
• Plan and execute application upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Provide technical support for resolving issues in older applications built on Core PHP.
• Version Control and Collaboration
• Use Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
• Collaborate effectively using platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards.
• System Design and Architecture
• Design scalable and secure application architectures.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies or tools to enhance productivity and performance.
• Contribute to planning and documentation of technical workflows and processes.
• Database and Security
• Design and optimize database schemas in MySQL .
• Perform database migrations, backups, and restorations as needed.
• Implement best practices for data security , application vulnerabilities, and server hardening.
• Leadership and Mentorship
• Mentor and guide junior developers to adopt best practices in coding and problem-solving.
• Provide technical leadership in planning and executing projects.

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?80,000.00 per month
