Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Summary:

A phlebotomist is responsible for safely and efficiently collecting blood samples from patients for medical testing, blood donation, or research purposes. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of phlebotomy procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Collecting Blood Samples:- Use proper venipuncture techniques to draw blood from patients.

- Verify patient identity and ensure correct labeling of blood samples.

- Handle and transport blood specimens safely.

2. Patient Interaction:- Communicate with patients to alleviate fears and explain the blood collection process.

- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during procedures.

3. Adherence to Protocols:- Follow established protocols and procedures for blood collection.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control measures.

4. Record-keeping:- Accurately document patient information, including medical history and details of blood collection.

- Maintain records of specimens collected and processed.

5. Equipment Maintenance:- Ensure proper functioning of phlebotomy equipment.

- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.

6. Team Collaboration:- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff.

- Provide support to colleagues when necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Education:- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.

2. Certification:- Possession of a phlebotomy certification is often required.

3. Skills:- Proficient in venipuncture techniques.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Knowledge of medical terminology.

4. Ethical Conduct:- Adherence to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?9,000.00 - ?15,000.00 per month

Education:
