Position: Phlebotomist
Location: Swastha Hospital, Dibrugarh
Department: Laboratory Services
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other standard methods, ensuring minimal discomfort for patients.
• Verify patient identities and confirm sample requisitions to ensure accurate specimen collection.
• Label, store, and transport specimens in compliance with laboratory protocols and safety guidelines.
• Maintain sterile and hygienic conditions in the collection area, adhering strictly to infection control policies.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients, addressing concerns to reduce anxiety.
• Handle emergency and difficult cases, such as pediatric, geriatric, or patients with special needs, with professionalism and care.
• Monitor inventory of phlebotomy supplies, ensuring availability and timely restocking.
• Assist in maintaining and updating patient records in the laboratory information system.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Requirements:

• Certification in Phlebotomy or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting.
• Strong understanding of laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control measures.
• Proficient in handling laboratory equipment and software systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse patient demographics.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with NABL-accredited laboratory processes and standards.
• Training or experience in pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy techniques.
• Experience in handling emergency cases and working under high-pressure situations.
