Job Title: Pharmacy Staff

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Staff is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities:

Prescription Processing:

Receive and verify prescription information from patients and healthcare providers. Accurately enter prescription data into the pharmacy's computer system. Prepare prescription labels and ensure accurate medication dispensing. Assist in filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies. Receive, stock, and organize incoming shipments. Monitor medication expiration dates and remove expired products. Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

Customer Service:

Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding prescriptions and medications. Assist patients with over-the-counter medication selection. Process payments and handle cash transactions.

Pharmacy Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment. Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards. Assist with routine cleaning and equipment maintenance. Properly dispose of medical waste.

Administrative Tasks:

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Assist with insurance claims and prior authorizations. Handle filing and other administrative duties as assigned. Maintain patient confidentiality.

Compliance:

Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Follow all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Maintain all required certifications and licenses.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. [Preferred: Previous pharmacy experience or pharmacy technician certification.] Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
