Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Delivery:
• Teach Political Science to senior secondary classes (11th and 12th grades), ensuring adherence to the curriculum set by the board (CBSE/ICSE or relevant board).
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and teaching aids that align with the curriculum.
• Lesson Planning and Assessment:
• Plan and execute engaging lessons that cover the subject's core concepts and contemporary issues.
• Design assessments, quizzes, tests, and assignments that evaluate student learning and understanding.
• Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain discipline in the classroom to create a conducive learning environment.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe and motivated to participate.
• Student Mentorship and Counseling:
• Act as a mentor and guide for students, providing guidance on both academic and career-oriented aspects.
• Identify students needing extra help and provide additional support through remedial classes or one-on-one sessions.
• Exam Preparation:
• Prepare students thoroughly for board examinations by providing practice tests, past paper discussions, and revision sessions.
• Assist in evaluating and analyzing students' performance and implementing strategies for improvement.
• Professional Development:
• Engage in continuous professional development, attend workshops, seminars, and stay updated with new developments in the field of Political Science and teaching methodologies.
• Extra-Curricular Participation:
• Contribute to school events, debates, Model United Nations (MUN), and other extracurricular activities that enhance students' knowledge of political science.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and other related information.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and contribute to departmental and school initiatives.
Key Skills and Competencies:
• Strong subject knowledge in Political Science, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning and student assessment.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students towards academic excellence.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Political Science or a related field.
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a senior secondary school setting.
• Familiarity with the curriculum and examination patterns of the respective educational board (CBSE).
