Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive computer science curriculum that aligns with educational standards and the school's objectives.
• Design lesson plans, coding projects, and hands-on activities to engage students in practical applications of computer science concepts.
• Programming Instruction:
• Teach various programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and software development methodologies.
• Provide guidance on problem-solving and critical thinking skills within the context of computer science.
• Classroom Instruction:
• Facilitate effective and dynamic classroom discussions and activities.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Project-Based Learning:
• Implement project-based learning initiatives that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
• Guide students through coding projects and collaborative programming exercises.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, and projects to evaluate students' understanding of computer science concepts.
• Provide constructive feedback to support students in their academic progress.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of computer science and technology.
• Integrate current industry practices and technologies into the curriculum.
• Extracurricular Activities:
• Organize and oversee computer science clubs, coding competitions, hackathons, or other related extracurricular activities.
• Encourage student participation in regional and national coding competitions.
• Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other teachers to integrate computer science principles into cross-disciplinary projects.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' progress and achievements.
• Maintaining Technology Resources:
• Ensure that computer labs and technology resources are well-maintained and equipped with the necessary software and hardware.
• Collaborate with the school's IT department to address technical issues promptly.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or relevant education credentials.
• In-depth knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages (such as Python, Java, or C++), and emerging technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Passion for fostering a love of learning and curiosity about computer science in students.
