Job Summary: The PGT Computer Science teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in computer science to senior secondary students. The teacher will create lesson plans, assess student performance, and foster a positive learning environment. The role also involves staying updated with the latest developments in computer science and integrating them into the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruction and Curriculum Development:
• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the curriculum requirements.
• Teach computer science concepts, including programming, algorithms, data structures, database management, and networking.
• Utilize various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
• Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning.
• Student Assessment and Evaluation:
• Assess student progress through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain discipline in the classroom and create a positive learning environment.
• Address student behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
• Professional Development:
• Stay updated with the latest developments in computer science and education.
• Participate in professional development programs and workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
• Additional Duties:
• Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to computer science, such as coding clubs or competitions.
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or head of department.
Qualifications:
• Educational Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience:
• Previous teaching seven to eight experience at the senior secondary level is preferred.
• Industry experience in computer science or IT is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
• Subject Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of computer science principles and practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, etc.
• Teaching Skills:
• Ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
