: PGT Accountancy Teacher

Reporting to : Principal/Head of Department
Key Responsibilities :
• Teaching :
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Accountancy for Grades 11 and 12 based on the curriculum guidelines (CBSE/ICSE/State Board or equivalent).
• Explain core accounting concepts such as financial statements, bookkeeping, partnership accounts, company accounts, and cash flow analysis effectively.
• Employ varied teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including real-world examples and case studies.
• Prepare students for board examinations with regular assessments, practice papers, and problem-solving sessions.
• Curriculum Development :
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, assignments, and study materials in alignment with the curriculum.
• Stay updated on changes in the syllabus and incorporate them into the teaching plans.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance learning experiences.
• Student Assessment and Guidance :
• Conduct periodic tests, quizzes, and assignments to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify students needing extra support and provide remedial classes or individual guidance.
• Encourage students to take part in co-curricular activities like commerce quizzes, seminars, and inter-school competitions.
• Record Maintenance :
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall progress.
• Prepare and submit student reports to the school administration as required.
• Collaboration and Development :
• Collaborate with other teachers in the Commerce department to align teaching methods and share resources.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills.
• Assist in organizing career counseling sessions related to commerce and accountancy fields.
• Parent Interaction :
• Communicate effectively with parents about student progress during parent-teacher meetings or as required.
• Provide actionable recommendations for academic improvement.
• Discipline and Ethics :
• Uphold the school's disciplinary standards and act as a role model for students.
• Foster a positive and ethical learning environment.
• Educational Qualifications :
• Postgraduate degree in Commerce (M.Com or equivalent).
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not mandatory in some institutions).
• Experience :
• 5+ years of experience teaching Accountancy at the senior secondary level (preferred).
• Freshers with strong academic backgrounds and teaching aptitude may also be considered.
• Skills :
• Strong knowledge of Accountancy concepts and principles.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Proficiency in using educational technology tools (e.g., Smart Boards, projectors).
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to excel academically.
