#### Job Purpose
To Monitor & review plant environment parameters, & facilitate their compliance as per Environment Management System standards & as per Government & statutory Acts, through effective liaison with Govt. agencies and plant people for smooth operation and functioning of the plant and to ensure conformance with all applicable environmental regulations and policies and to make synergy and strategy related to policy decisions of State Govt. to understand of various environment issues and their strategy.
#### Job Context & Major Challenges
Major Challenges -
. The amount of Statutory Environment Compliances for cement plant has risen over the last few years and is increasingly becoming a challenge to keep track of all the environmental parameters.
. The person has to keep track of all the new guidelines and notifications pertaining to compliance and take necessary action in consultation with the plant management
. Apart from environment compliance, the reports, data and activities related to sustainability also falls under the purview of this position and involves handling with the information and data on sustainability.
. To adopt good/best practices & educate employees for participation and contribute in the environment related activities.
. To look after Ground Water and Surface water consumtion for both industrial and domestic purpose, their regulatory compliance and agreement with BID & CGWA and compliance linked with these agreement / renewals
. To identify and implement the emerging challenges arising out of National Environment Policy.
#### Key Result Areas
KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters)
KRA1 Strategy & Planning:
To coordinate with multiple stakeholders including Government authority for the completion and approval of projects. Taking lead to align the unit goals with Sustainability Goals related with Environment. . Involve in the studying and developing of environment impact assessment report for cement plant.
. Facilitate and conduct public hearing for the new and expansion projects as per the guidelines
. Design, develop and execute an implementation work plan for the expansion and renewal projects. This would also involve working closely with agencies and Government authorities.
. Co-ordinate with corporate sustainability team for the preparation and submission of sustainability report & SAQs for sustainability audits.
. Updating environmental data elaborately into the software as a part of the sustainability task.
KRA2 Operation Management:
To be obtained the Environment Clearance, NOCs, Consents and Authorization for new project, amendments, their timely renewals for the Nodal Agencies. Ensure the Compliance with conditions given in Environment Clearance, NOCs, Consents and Authorization during operation of Plant. . Filing online /manual applications and co-ordination with Government Bodies to obtain/renewal of Environment Clearances, Consents and Authorizations
. To be obtained NOCs, Consents, Authorizations for new units, any amendments, renewals for Cement Plant.
. Ensure regular and periodic submission of statutory and compliance reports about the performance of the plant to Government bodies pertaining to EC and CTO on timely basis.
KRA3 Environmental Management:
Monitor & review plant environment parameters, & facilitate their compliance in line with Government & statutory requirement. To ensure conformance with all applicable environmental regulations and policies. To look after water Mnagement . Monitor and review environment parameters for Cement Plant on regular basis.
. Ensuring the performance of Pollution control equipment by monitoring and reviewing.
. Ensuring working of Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) and compliance of its guidelines.
. Review the status of EC and Consent conditions and their implementation status at ground level. Identified gaps, planning to filling the gap.
. Confirmation with all the environment related requirement with respect to rules, policies, NGT/ Court orders, OSPCB MoEF/ Govts directions.
. Capability building of all the plant employees working in different sections though training and awareness for achieving the Environment Targets.

KRA4 Audit & Legal Compliance
Ensure adherence to all the Environment related legal requirement for Plant . Ensure compliance during Environment Audits, during OSPCB / MoEF / CGWA / Irigation Division visits. Ensure timely submission of various Compliance reports to Govt. Agencies.
. Conduct Environmental Audit within the plant regularly and identify environmental abnormalities, spillage/leakages to be reported and rectified.
. Co-ordination with the legal cell at corporate office for updating the compliance manager software.
KRA5 Cost Management
Implementation of environmental activities at optimum cost without compromising with the compliance requirement of the unit. . Develop the Capital expenditure/budget for the department as a part of planning and monitoring of activities related to environment compliance.
. Environment Budgets for statutory fees for CTO & CTE, consultancy charges, commitment towards the Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER), world environment day celebration etc.
KRA6 Public Relation:
Facilitate and ensure effective relationship with OSPCB (Head Office & Regional Office), Forest Office, consultants, Environment Auditors for smooth operation of Plants. . Maintained cordial relation and with Officials of OSPCB, Head Office, Regional Office, Forest Departments through regular meetings. Good relation with consultants, Environment Auditors, local communities etc.
. Ensure compliance to any observation raised on timely basis.
. Ensure zero penalties / letters due to noncompliance issues.
. Ensure good relation with local villagers for environment aspects (daily water spraying on Dhutra Road, Proper use of STP Water, zero air pollution at Village Dhutra, Champapada, Arda and other factories sorounded villages
. Ensure good relations with all Media persons both paper and electronics for positive image of unit at society.
KRA7 Focus on SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) along with Sustainability initiatives Ensuring 100% compliance of all safety standards and all applicable recommendations related to section
Build strong believe and adherence among team about "I know my job", "I know the hazards associated with my job and I applied control measures" & "I escalate to my senior" among manpower deployed in sections/department manpower including peer, O&S, WB & CL manpower
Ensure strict compliance of procedures in routine jobs and Adhering of all safety precautions on the site and off the site
Timely conducting self and team scheduled SO round and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses on occurrences in section head in system
To ensure daily Tool Box Talk and deliberating on safety incident or knowledge sharing
Active participation in safety training, safety sub committees, standard champions meeting and any safety event by self and team
Ensure that there is no waste of power in section, no leakage of water, oil, air etc and time to time auditing and rechecking such areas for timely action
Ensure good health of self and team and creating awareness among team about sustainability initiatives of unit, business and group.
KRA8 System Management:-
(Implementing & monitoring effective execution of IMS and other systems in the Section for overall improvements towards productivity and creating safe work culture) To plan & execute timely ABOEF process activities in respective Section like
5S, BCE, hygiene, Model area, illumination, good maintenance practices, visual & Lubrication management, QCDIPSHE performance, Kaizen, OPL, improvement projects etc for internal customer satisfaction.
Review procedure requirements & recommend amendments for continuous improvement.
Actively taking lead in meetings for implementation good practices in improving associated KFA and GRT performance and carry out internal audits to ensure effective implementation of systems
To inculcate team for reducing repetitive nature problem, training other on tacit knowledge, adapting new technology, bring kaizen & improvement projects, adherence & develop preservation SOP's.
Ensure proper implementation of IMS standards by timely Updation of documents & control, reviewing standards requirements, taking corrective & preventive action against findings internal and external audit/assessments finding for timely closure for 100% compliance.
Qualifications:
Master in Environmental Sci.,PGD in Energy & Environment,PGD Environmental Monitoring
Minimum Experience Level:
5-8 Years
