BUK & BX - All locations We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. Introduction: Our global, cross functional team works closely with Prime Derivatives business, Product Development, and Operations partners to drive and execute on transformational initiatives that help realize aggressive client growth targets. As an Engineer on our team, your focus will be on enhancing stability, scalability, efficiency and flexibility of our foundational platform, while building out new features, integrations and process automation in partnership with our business counterparts. Deliver on critical business priorities while evolving platform towards it\'s strategic vision . Work closely with product managers, end users, business analysts to understand business objectives and key success measures . Partner with technology teams to design and architect solutions that align to Barclays Architecture, Data and Security standards, while utilizing best-of-breed technology . Develop and test resilient, scalable, and reusable services and APIs utilizing latest frameworks and libraries while adhering to development standards . Implement automated build, test and deployment pipelines utilizing latest DevOps tools . Proactively create and manage relevant application documentation . Participate in Scrum ceremonies and conduct sprint demos for stakeholders . Proactively manage application health and platform stability by reviewing technical debt, operational risks and vulnerabilities . Define metrics and instrument measurement and monitoring of production environment to ensure that application meet Service Level Objectives . Work alongside production support teams(RTB) to ensure health of production environment and address issues . Evaluate software and vendors and conduct proof-of-concept development using emerging technologies Skills that will help you in the role : . 5+ years of hands-on coding skills with Java, Unix shell scripting, gherkins / Cucumber. . Ability to develop and enhance java based test automation frameworks / familiar with one or more of the following frameworks: Junit, testNG, Selenium Web driver, Protractor, Page Object Model, Ranorex. . Exposure to SQL and relation databases with few years of experience in this field. Must be able to write complex SQL, Performance optimization of SQL, views, stored procedures etc. . Experience in using agile tools e.g. JIRA, Git, Team City, and Agile Central. . Experience in using Git/Stash for source and version control, Autosys for batch control and Team City/ Nexus for build/deployment. . Experience operating in a Unix environment. . Experience in the financial services domain, preferably in Trade Processing or Middle Office applications. . Bachelors or Master\'s Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology What will you be doing . Experience working with at least one messaging platform (MQ/ TIBCO/ Kafka/ Solace) . Understanding of OTC and Listed Derivatives/Futures, execution and clearing processing . Test Automation Framework development.
