Job Title: PCB Assembler

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technician PCB Assembler to join our team. The PCB Assembler will be responsible for assembling and soldering printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to provided blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. This position requires a high level of precision, the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues, and a strong understanding of electronic components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and solder components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with work instructions, specifications, and industry standards.
• Inspect and verify the quality of components, connections, and finished boards to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Use manual and automated assembly tools and equipment, including soldering irons, reflow ovens, and testing devices.
• Perform functional and visual inspections of PCBs to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty PCBs by identifying defects and determining solutions.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations, adhering to safety standards and best practices.
• Follow proper handling procedures for sensitive and delicate components.
• Collaborate with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to resolve assembly challenges.
• Perform regular maintenance and calibration on equipment as required.
• Document and report on work performed, including any deviations from standard processes.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines while performing tasks.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience (X years) working as a PCB assembler or in a similar electronics assembly role.
• Strong knowledge of soldering techniques, both hand-soldering and automated soldering.
• Familiarity with PCB design and layout, electronic components, and their functions.
• Experience using tools such as microscopes, soldering stations, and test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and assembly instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

Preferred Skills:

• Soldering - Being able to connect small electronic parts to the board using a soldering iron, hand-soldering through-hole and surface-mount components like microchips and micro controllers.
• Component Knowledge - Recognizing and understanding the small parts (like resistors, capacitors) and how to place them correctly.
• Reading Diagrams - Understanding how to read circuit/ schematic diagrams and board layouts to know where each part goes.
• Quality Check - Checking your work to make sure all parts are in place and the soldering looks good.
• Basic Electronics - Knowing how basic electronic components work and how to avoid damaging them.
• Attention to Detail - Being precise when placing tiny parts and soldering them to avoid mistakes.
• Using Tools - Knowing how to use soldering irons, hot air tools, and other equipment used in assembly.
• Problem Solving - Figuring out and fixing any mistakes, like wrong part placement or broken connections.
• Time Management - Working efficiently to meet production goals without rushing.
• Safety - Following safety rules when working with hot tools and chemicals.
• Familiarity with the operation of PCB testing and inspection equipment.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment, as required.
• Occasional overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
