The function plays a critical role in driving employee engagement and is responsible for designing and delivering wellbeing initiatives to foster a thriving, diverse and inclusive work culture for all.The payroll specialist essentially oversees accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintains payroll records, ensures compliance with laws and regulations, liaises payroll projects and liaises with external vendors to resolve complex payroll & regulatory issues. The role incumbent shall actively process India payroll and partner with the vendor to execute payroll for the India office.Your key responsibilities as a Payroll Specialist will be:

  • Managing the monthly payroll process - for the India Office, working with HR, Finance & other Department Managers and our outsourced payroll provider
  • Payroll responsibilities include;
  • Managing the timelines, collating data, liaising with the outsourced payroll provider, presenting the final reports for review and coordinating and documenting the sign offs
  • Reviewing monthly payroll reports from vendor and provide analytical review and commentary for the management review
  • Maintaining quality and accuracy of payroll information stored within the payroll systems
  • Preparing and posting the monthly payroll journals and maintaining the payroll related reconciliations, investigating and resolving any issues where necessary
  • Setting up payroll related payments in the bank for approval
  • Determining accurate compensation, including overtime, deductions, extra payments, bonuses
  • Addressing staff queries related to payroll and user portal
  • Payment Execution - responsible for salary payments on time to staff.
  • Computing additional payroll information - accruals, leave encashment, out of payroll payments
  • Maintaining employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Liaising with auditors and managing payroll and statutory audits
  • Reporting - publishing compensation reviews and reports to management on a regular basis
  • Handling full and final settlement for exited employees - payments, queries and processes
  • Planning and handling of remittance of statutory payments to respective government departments/agencies
  • Statutory compliances - coordinating with compliance teams for filing returns and related payment to respective government departments/agencies
To join us as a Payroll Specialist you will need the following experience and skills:
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in the payroll field
  • Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Allsec, SAP, etc. for accurate and efficient payroll processing and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent Stakeholder Relationship with experience in working with outsourced payroll providers
  • Strong understanding of financial acumen, including tax calculations and pay distribution
  • Knowledge of India related tax laws and employment regulations to ensure compliance
  • Ability to handle data entry and analysis with attention to detail
  • A sound knowledge of compliances related to Indian compensation, including but not limited to calculations of statutory contributions, retiral benefits, amongst others
