General
The Payroll Lead position reports to Payroll Supervisor and interfaces with HR, Payroll Change Control, Payroll Compliance team within payroll, other accounting groups within shared services environment and project/location based customers. Therefore, the position requires good communication and inter-personal skills. The position is responsible for managing end-to-end daily activities associated with timely and accurate processing of India Payroll using the enterprise SAP/other payroll tools and system working very closely with the payroll processors.
Candidate will be responsible resolving payroll processor / employee queries, preparing various ad-hoc reports and matrix reports of the process. The position requires auditing and/or entering and validating employee payroll data such as tax withholding set up, various allowances, benefit payments and deductions, processing of time records, pension and insurance plan information in SAP. The auditing of payroll results by verifying manually entered transactions, warnings and review of inputs loads to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing will be integral part of the role. The Payroll Lead is also assigned special studies or analysis from time to time on as needed basis.
Candidate must apply sound financial acumen and concepts beyond the simple adherence to detailed procedures and instructions, recommending solutions to unusual problems. Assist with functional testing and provides feedback and support for system design changes and enhancements. Assignment calls for strong judgment and resourcefulness to resolve problems where solutions are not obvious.
