The Patient Care Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for patients throughout their care experience. This role ensures that patients receive timely, compassionate, and coordinated care, and provides guidance on hospital procedures, including billing and insurance processes. The ideal candidate will have a blend of good communication, knowledge of medical billing and insurance claims
Key Responsibilities :
Patient Care Coordination :
• Serve as the liaison between patients, medical staff, and hospital departments to facilitate coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families about hospital services, and available resources.
• Ensure smooth transitions for patients during hospital admission, discharge
• Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Assist with patient inquiries and concerns, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction
Billing & Insurance Responsibilities :
• Should have knowledge of hospital billing - what to do, how to do, line items involved
• Provide guidance to patients regarding hospital billing procedures, including itemized bills, payment option
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for patients.
• Raise all the approval requests as per patient treatment plan and also should have knowledge of how to get the approval
• Educate patients on their insurance policies, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Assist with resolving insurance claim denials or discrepancies by working closely with insurance companies and patients
Qualifications :
• Education : Any Bachelor's degree
• Experience :
• Previous experience in patient care coordination or a hospital billing / TPA executive role
