  • At least 8- years experience in OS, Middleware & Database products support
Develop and implement a comprehensive patch management strategy specifically tailored for OS, Middleware & Database components, considering factors such as criticality, impact, and dependenciesEvaluate and prioritize patches released by OS, Middleware & Database vendors based on their relevance, severity of vulnerabilities addressed, and potential impact on system stability and performance.Plan and coordinate patching activities for OS, Middleware & Database components, ensuring minimal disruption to service availability and business operations by scheduling patches during maintenance windows or low-traffic periods.Collaborate with various stakeholders, including system administrators, application owners, database administrators, and security teams, to coordinate patching activities and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate the compatibility of patches with existing OS, Middleware & Database configurations, applications, and integrations, ensuring that patches do not introduce new issues or conflicts.Assess and mitigate risks associated with patching activities, such as potential service interruptions, performance degradation, or data loss, by implementing appropriate rollback procedures and contingency plans.Maintain accurate records of patching activities, including patch deployment schedules, testing results, issues encountered, and remediation actions taken, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate auditing and reporting.Ensure that patching activities adhere to security policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices, minimizing the exposure to security vulnerabilities and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data processed by OS, Middleware & Database systems.Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline patch management workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce the time and effort required for patching activities while maintaining a high level of service quality.Provide guidance, training, and support to team members and stakeholders on best practices for patch management, security compliance, and risk mitigation strategies related to OS, Middleware & Database components.Maintain effective relationships with OS, Middleware & Database vendors, staying informed about new releases, patches, and security advisories, and coordinating with vendors to address critical issues and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.Plan and execute testing procedures to validate the compatibility and stability of patches with existing OS, Middleware & Database configurations, applications, and dependencies before deployment to production environments.Respond promptly to issues arising from patching activities, such as system failures, performance degradation, or service disruptions, and collaborate with relevant teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.Required Professional and Technical Expertise:Proficiency in managing a variety of OS, Middleware & Database platforms, including but not limited to IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, Apache Tomcat, Microsoft Internet Information ServicesUnderstanding of backup and recovery strategies for OS, Middleware & Database environments, including regular backups of configuration data, application artifacts, and system filesProficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate routine tasks, configure deployments, and streamline OS, Middleware & Database administration processes.Qualification:Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science or related l field.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Being YouDiversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, its how we think and who we are.
