Job Description

1. Recipe Development and Testing: Creating new pastry recipes and refining existing ones. This involves experimenting with ingredients, techniques, and presentation.

2. Preparation and Production: Making pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods. This includes measuring, mixing, and baking, as well as ensuring consistency and quality.

3. Decoration and Presentation: Designing and decorating pastries and desserts to ensure they are visually appealing. This may involve intricate piping, garnishing, and artistic plating.

4. Ingredient Management: Selecting and managing the quality of ingredients, including sourcing specialty items. Ensuring all ingredients are fresh and stored correctly.

5. Menu Planning: Collaborating with restaurant or bakery management to create and update dessert menus. This includes seasonal and themed offerings.

6. Quality Control: Monitoring the consistency and quality of baked goods. This includes tasting, adjusting recipes, and ensuring all products meet the establishment's standards.

7. Team Management: Overseeing and training junior pastry chefs, bakers, and kitchen staff. Delegating tasks and ensuring efficient operation of the pastry section.

8. Inventory Management: Keeping track of supplies, ordering ingredients, and managing stock levels to avoid shortages or waste.

9. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring all food safety standards and hygiene practices are followed. This includes maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and proper food handling procedures.

10. Customer Interaction: Sometimes interacting with customers to get feedback or tailor desserts to specific requests, especially in boutique bakeries or high-end restaurants.

11. Creativity and Innovation: Staying updated with current trends in pastry and dessert presentation. Experimenting with new techniques and ingredients to keep the menu exciting.

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
